 Place Time3rd Sunday of each month, 7:00 p.m.  DescriptionA choral evensong service. This Anglican service first appeared in the 16th century with the Compline background of the Catholic Church. In 1662 the Book of Common Prayer was first published and contained the Order of Evening Prayer. It has continued to be used ever since, even if more modern language has appeared in recent years. The texts of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis have been most consistently used and two others are also generally presented, the Introit or Antiphon and the Anthem. The choir plays a very important part and the congregation is encouraged to join in the singing of hymns.  Contact: Tim Bustin |
