What is SOMA?

SOMA (Sharing Of Ministries Abroad) is an Anglican based mission agency with a worldwide vision: to see Christians of all churches renewed in the Holy Spirit in all nations of the world.SOMA has a special focus on the developing countries, believing that the most important need is for men and women to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and live in the power of His Holy Spirit.SOMA is committed to evangelism by helping the church to be equipped through the power of the Holy Spirit to fulfil the Great Commission of Jesus Christ: to proclaim the Good News to all the world.

What does SOMA do?

SOMA sends faith-sharing teams to the developing countries to help church leaders to learn about and experience renewal in the Holy Spirit. By working with the leaders, the whole church can be affected.SOMA assists Christian leaders from different parts of the world to meet with each other to share their experiences of the love and power of God. The church in the West has as much to learn from the younger churches as to give to them.SOMA organises and participates in conferences and meetings for leaders within the Renewal movement worldwide.

SOMA Teams

Small teams of men and women, ordained and lay, travel at their own expense to one of the developing countries, normally for about two or three weeks. They may all come from one parish, or from a variety of backgrounds and denominations.Teams go at the invitation of the leadership of the host church or diocese, with the agreement of the bishop. They teach and minister at leaders' seminars, clergy conferences, area missions, etc. Teaching focuses on: renewal in the Holy Spirit, evangelism, the healing ministry, renewing the local church, spiritual warfare, etc. Team members expect the Lord to use them through the ministries and gifts of the Holy Spirit.Teams may he invited to work within an Anglican setting, or ecumenically to serve the needs of an area.
