| vestry and core groups - introduction |
|
In 2001 (with minor changes made in 2005) an organisational model was introduced across the parish to support the clergy and Vestry members in fulfilling their oversight of the parish activities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Value statements of the parish that were accepted in 2000. The model consists of two levels of parish oversight involving both the clergy and congregational representatives meeting together on a regular basis within:
Core Groups care for the day-today congregational issues and the development of worship as well as outworking the Parish Mission, Vision, and Values. A member of the clergy will be appointed to lead each Core Group.
Vestry is responsible for parish-wide policy issues having a representative from each of the Core Groups to provide various perspectives on issues, particularly as related to the congregation they represent. The Vestry will also focus on the areas of prayer, strategy, policy, spiritual oversight, encouragement and communications. The Parish Manager acts as the Vestry Secretary. |
