vestry membership

It must not have less than three members. With the Vicar’s consent the Vestry may elect one of its lay members its Chairperson. It may co-opt others to assist it with governance issues.

 

In the Parish of Waikanae, Vestry membership is restricted to:

  • The Vicar
  • The two Wardens
  • A representative of each of the Core Groups
  • A youth representative
  • A representative from the Pastoral Care Committee
  • Paid clergy and full time staff are expected to attend (although elected members of Vestry may choose occasionally to meet without staff if it seems appropriate). Parish staff who are not paid may attend if they wish to do so
  • Synod representatives
  • Parish Treasurer
  • Parish Manager (as Secretary)
