The vision of Christian Religious Education (CRE) is to teach school children biblical values. Both primary schools in Waikanae have a CRE programme and our local churches are passionate about supporting these programmes whilst the opportunity remains open. We enjoy a good relationship with both Schools and the objective is to have 2 volunteer teachers in every class for 30 minutes per week. Teachers are drawn from several churches, receive training and must be Police Vetted. Many volunteers start out as a 2IC or observer in a classroom and gain confidence as they get to know the children and see the way the main teacher operates.
